The Racing Apprentice School of Education, Kildare, is holding four open days this year. RACE provides a 42-week residential course for 30 young people each a year. To date, those who have successfully completed the course have all gained employment. Jobs include working as jockeys, head lads, grooms and stud grooms. Applicants must be 15 to 17 years of age and around six stone in weight. The open days are tomorrow, then April 3rd, April 17th, and May 8th from 2 to 4 p.m.
