LOG ON, LEARNOld age should be a time of happiness and sharing accumulated wisdom. For many people in modern society, however, it brings loneliness and isolation.

In the academic year 2008-9, over 150 teenagers from schools across Ireland have trained almost 3,000 older people. The programme involves eight modules, with trainers taking into account the older person’s initial skill level and learning pace into account. SCIENCE AT EDUCATION CENTRES

The Navan, Limerick, and Waterford teacher’s centres are running courses for teachers of science in transition year, on Monday November 9th, 16th, and 23rd respectively, from 5.30-9pm. The course will introduce teachers to a new science resource including a compilation of activities, presentations and practical adventures. Applications will be accepted up to one week prior to the course.
