A major drive to set up a regional structure for the new organisation of principals and deputy principals continues this week in Dublin and Cork.
The National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals (NAPD), launched last September by Minister for Education and Science Micheal Martin, brings six separate associations together from the 750 secondary, vocational, community and comprehensive schools in the State. It represents about 1,500 members. Tonight the NAPD meets in the Springfort Hall Hotel in Mallow, Co Cork, at 7.30 p.m.; tomorrow evening members will meet in the Green Isle Hotel, Dublin. A meeting was held in Ballyconnell, Co Cavan, last night, and last week members attended meetings in Carlow, Thurles and Castlebar.
It's hoped that the meeting will result in members setting up a strong regional structure.
