British cash aims to attract high flyers

The Chevening Awards Scheme 2002 is now accepting applications for the academic year 2002-03.

The scholarships are offered annually by the British Government to enable high achievers from around the world to undertake postgraduate study in Britain. One of the aims is to bring future leaders, decision-makers and opinion formers to Britain.

The scheme has been operating here since l984 and 180 Irish people have benefited.

This year, applicants from politics, journalism, media studies and art and design students are particularly welcome.
