The Dutch Christian Democrats (CDA) and two smaller parties have finally reached a draft agreement to form a new coalition, four months after the general election, a government spokeswoman said today.

The CDA and free-market liberals VVD - who shared power in a three-party coalition before the January elections - agreed to team up with the D66 centrists in a government expected to impose drastic budget cuts.
