Dungannon Meats has lost its contract to supply fresh beef to British supermarket chain Sainsbury.

Dungannon Meats has lost its contract to supply fresh beef to British supermarket chain Sainsbury.

Dungannon was responsible for 40 per cent of Sainsbury's beef products but the supermarket has decided to use a single supplier, Anglo Beef Processors.

Yesterday, Dungannon Meats announced the closure of its Elmgrove Foods operation in Belfast with the loss of 30 jobs.

Dungannon Meats managing director Jim Dobson, said: "We deeply regret having to make this announcement, but the loss of the Sainsbury business is a major blow."
