London - The Duke of Edinburgh has appointed his first woman equerry, it emerged yesterday.

London - The Duke of Edinburgh has appointed his first woman equerry, it emerged yesterday.

Squadron Leader Lynda Johnson (38) will be at the duke's side on engagements and will organise his public diary. Miss Johnson, who is currently an air traffic controller at RAF Valley, Anglesey, will start her new job early in July for a two-year term.
