A Dublin pub manager was abducted at gun point early this morning by masked men attempting to rob his premises.

The man was taken from his home in Swords, Co Dublin, in his own car, between 3 and 4 a.m. and forced to open the Autobahn pub on Glasnevin Avenue, Dublin 9.

A Garda spokeswoman confirmed that a quantity of cash was taken in the raid but could not confirm reports that €30,000 was taken. The raiders did not take the man's car, which remains at the secene for technical examination.

The pub manager was not physically hurt in the incident, the spokeswoman added.
