Several units of Dublin Firebrigade are tonight tackling what has been described as an extensive fire in the city centre.

Several units of Dublin Firebrigade are tonight tackling what has been described as an extensive fire in the city centre.

The blaze broke out in a number of derelict buildings on Thomas Street some time before 5.30 p.m. this evening.

There are no reports of any injuries and a spokesman for the firebrigade said the fire was coming under control.

There are no other details at present.
