The Minister of State for Transport has promised the family of a man missing at sea since March that a full investigation of the incident is being carried out.
Pat "the Cope" Gallagher met the family of Glen Cott, skipper of the Maggie Bvessel, earlier today to discuss their case.
However, he did not give any definite answer regarding the raising of the Maggie B, which sank off Hook Head on March 29th. The skipper's family have asked for the vessel to be raised to establish what caused the tragedy.
Mr Gallagher said this was a matter for the Marine Casualty Investigation Board, but he assured the family that their views would be presented to the board. He is also requesting that the Naval Services carry out a thorough examination of the vessel.
Mr Cott's family has collected 5,000 signatures and lobbied politicians as part of their campaign.
