THE general drift from the land and rural areas was described as "alarming" by the Minister of State for Tourism, Sport and Recreation, Mr Chris Flood, yesterday. He was speaking at the launch of a report, "Low Income/Smallholder Households - A Survival Strategy", which estimated the drift from the land at 4,000 to 5,000 households annually.
