Algiers - The Algerian government yesterday approved a draft amnesty law for Muslim rebels, its first tangible move to try to end more than seven years of violence. The draft National Harmony law will be submitted to parliament for a vote next week after its formal endorsement tomorrow by a council of ministers headed by newly elected President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
