A FILE is being prepared for the Director of Prosecutions following the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl in a Co Limerick village.

Two teenage boys were arrested and questioned in relation to the rape of the teenager last month in an east Limerick village.

Gardaí in Bruff confirmed yesterday that they are investigating the rape, which is alleged to have taken place in Hospital.

Two youths aged 16 were questioned in relation to the incident, which is alleged to have taken place on August 23rd last.

It is understood the victim was known to her attackers.

The girl was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick for treatment following the incident.

Locals in the area were shocked to learn of the attack and local TD Niall Collins has appealed for every assistance to be given to gardaí investigating the alleged assault.
