London - MPs yesterday criticised the ability of the Dounreay nuclear power plant to keep under wraps a highly critical report.

The report, finally published last month after it was announced that the Caithness plant would cease commercial reprocessing, was highly critical of standards at the plant, describing one laboratory as "simply unacceptable" and warning that waste management in some areas was reaching "crisis point".
