Gardai in Letterkenny were last night treating as suspicious the death of a man whose body was found early yesterday in his parked car at New Mills on the outskirts of the town.

There was smoke damage to the inside of the car but no apparent injuries to the man's body.

The State Pathologist, Dr John Harbison, was due to arrive in Letterkenny last night to carry out a post-mortem and a team from the Garda technical bureau was examining the scene.

The 33-year-old man, who lived a few miles from Letterkenny, was married with three children. It is believed he went out with his brother on Saturday night but became separated from him.
