A woman from Naas, Co Kildare, who has learning difficulties but who lives independently and has represented Ireland in the Special Olympics, has published her autobiography.

The book, Moving On, by Ms Rita Lawlor, was launched last night by the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation, Dr McDaid.

Ms Lawlor has campaigned for some years against the use of the term "mentally handicapped". Her book is published by Marino at £9.99.
