Decision due in Aer Lingus row

The Labour Court is expected to issue a recommendation on the Aer Lingus dispute within the next week

The Labour Court is expected to issue a recommendation on the Aer Lingus dispute within the next week. It heard submissions yesterday from management and SIPTU, which represents cabin crew on the airline.

The dispute centres on cabin crew numbers on the Dublin New York service. The company wants to reduce staffing, in order to make way for a steward from Delta. Delta is Aer Lingus's new strategic partner on the route, and the agreement provides for Delta personnel to be used on Aer Lingus aircraft.
