Debut collection shows Romeril is name to watch

TALENTED IRISH newcomer Danielle Romeril has debuted her first collection at Somerset House.

TALENTED IRISH newcomer Danielle Romeril has debuted her first collection at Somerset House.

The Dublin-based designer is a graduate of the Limerick School of Art Design. She interned with Sharon Wauchob in Paris and Sinha-Stanic in London before getting a job designing with Amanda Wakeley in London.

In 2008 she began a master’s at the Royal College of Art and while there won the Swarovski Sophie Hallette Lace Award and the International Flavours Fragrances Award. After her MA, Romeril moved to Italy to work with Alberta Ferretti.

This collection, made in her studio on Wexford Street, features geometric printed silks, leather applique lace and pearls. It has a refinement and elegance that marks her out as a name to watch.
