The death has taken place of veteran broadcaster Mr Niall Sheridan after a long illness

The death has taken place of veteran broadcaster Mr Niall Sheridan after a long illness. He was a freelance broadcaster and a member of the panel of Information Please, a Radio Eireann programme in the late 1940s and 1950s. He was a graduate of UCD and also studied in Paris. He was also a Joycean scholar.

He is survived by a daughter, Catherine. His wife Monica Sheridan was an RTE broadcaster and cookery expert. She died some years ago.
