PARIS - Russian dissident writer Andre Sinyavsky (71), who spent several years in a Soviet gulag, died in a Paris suburb of cancer yesterday. Sinyavsky was arrested and fried in 1965 for writing "anti-Soviet" works, and was sentenced with fellow writer Yuli Daniel, to seven years of hard labour in Potma prison camp.
