Dawn bomb injures five in Jakarta suburb

The blast destroyed much of the two-storey building in a south Jakarta suburb and also damaged homes nearby.

A suspected bomb exploded at a boarding-house in the Indonesian capital Jakarta at dawn today seriously injuring five people, police said.

Jakarta police spokesman Mr Anton Bahrul Alam said: "The motive and the type of explosion is still being investigated but we suspect it was caused by a homemade bomb."
