Mr Noel Davern has been appointed Minster of State at the Department of Agriculture with special responsibilty for Food in a cabinet reshuffle following the resignation of Mr Ned O'Keeffe.

Mr O'Keeffe's resignation - tendered on Saturday - was formally accepted by the Taoiseach Mr Ahern today.

Mr Éamon Ó Cuív has been appointed Minster of State at the Department of Agriculture with responsibility for Rural Development and for the Western Development Commission.

Ms Mary Coughlan TD has been appointed to succeed Mr Ó Cuív as Minister of State at the Department of Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands.
