Jens-Peter Bonde MEP, a Danish member of the Europe of Nations political group and a long-standing opponent of European integration, came to Ireland at the same time as President Gil-Robles, to make the case against ratification of the Amsterdam Treaty. He appeared on radio, and addressed a public meeting in a Dublin city-centre hotel.
