The Dáil Finance Sub-Committee has decided to hold a discussion on decentralisation for two days towards the end of this month.

The chairman, Fianna Fáil TD Mr Sean Fleming said he would invite interested parties to appear, including officials from the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, and the Revenue Commissioners, who had successfully moved their headquarters from Dublin to Limerick ten years ago.

The Committee will then meet again after September 7th, which is the deadline for civil servants who wish to leave the capital to submit their request to the Central Application Facility.

The chairman of the expert group on de-centralisation, Mr Phil Flynn, indicated that his report would be completed by then and that he would also appear before the Committee.
