Murder investigation after Belfast body find

PSNI open murder inquiry following discovery of man’s body in the city this afternoon

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) have launched a murder inquiry following the discovery of a body in Belfast.

The remains of a man were found at a house in the Henderson Avenue area of the city this afternoon.

He has been named as Basil McAfee (50).

It is understood his body was discovered by a family member at 1pm today.

A post mortem examination is due to be carried out tomorrow.

The PSNI have appealed for information.
