A man has been arrested by gardaí in Co Donegal over a fatal hit-and-run incident in Co Fermanagh yesterday.

A man has been arrested by gardaí in Co Donegal in relation to a fatal hit-and-run incident in Co Fermanagh yesterday.

The motorist in his 40s was held in the Pettigo area about 5pm yesterday. A car was also seized by gardai.

Early yesterday morning a pedestrian in his 50s, was hit by a blue Ford Focus car on the Tullychurry Road near Belleek in Co Fermanagh near the Border with Co Donegal.

The PSNI are treating the death of the man as a case of suspected hit-and-run.

The PSNI asked people in the area around Leggs and Belleek to report any sighting of the car, the front of which was damaged in the collision.
