Man held after reports of shots fired in Co Kildare

A man has been arrested by gardaí investigating reports of shots being fired in Co Kildare overnight.

Gardaí said the 24-year-old was arrested following reports of shots being discharged at a property in Derrinturn shortly before 4.30am.

Investigations are ongoing and a property in Derrinturn remained sealed off by gardaí.

The man is being detained at Leixlip Garda station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act. He can be questioned for up to 72 hours.
