A firearm and six knives recovered

A 33-year-old man has been arrested in Dundalk after gardaí discovered a firearm and six ‘locking’ knives while responding to a public order incident at Barrack Street in the town at 7pm last night.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested in Dundalk after gardaí discovered a firearm and six 'locking' knives while responding to a public order incident at Barrack Street in the town at 7pm last night.

Gardai arrested the man after he became violently agressive. The firearm and knives were found in a bag in his possession.

The man is currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939-’98 at Dundalk Garda Station.
