Two men on a motor cruiser had to abandon their boat yesterday morning off the coast of west Cork after it caught fire.
The vessel was north of Dursey Sound when the incident occurred around 8 a.m.
A mayday message was sent out and the LE Aoife and a number of fishing boats arrived on the scene to assist in the rescue operation.
The Aoife was towing a disabled trawler to Castletownbere when it received the emergency call.
