Dolores O'Riordan, lead singer with the Cranberries, gave birth to her first child, a boy, at the weekend

Dolores O'Riordan, lead singer with the Cranberries, gave birth to her first child, a boy, at the weekend. Named Taylor Baxter Burton, the baby was born at midday Irish time in Toronto, Canada, on Sunday. He weighed in at 7lb 6oz.

Mr Don Burton, the Limerick-born singer's husband, was present for the birth. A statement from her publicist said that both mother and baby were happy and well.
