The Court of Criminal Appeal has reserved judgment on an appeal by Sean Mackey against his two-year sentence for violent disorder outside a Dublin nightclub.

Sean Mackey (23) of South Park, Foxrock, Dublin, was jailed for two years for violent disorder arising from an incident in August 2000 outside Club Annabel at Dublin's Burlington Hotel during which student Brian Murphy was kicked to death.

An appeal against conviction and sentence by Dermot Laide (22), of Rossvale, Castleblaney, Co Monaghan, has been listed for mention on November 23rd.

Laide was jailed for four years for killing Mr Murphy and received a concurrent two-year term after he was found guilty of violent disorder.
