Country music fans will begin arriving today for the second annual Midlands Music Festival.

Acts like Paul Brady, Christy Moore, Kris Kristofferson and the Waterboys top the bill at the two-day event in the 160-acre Belvedere House estate in Mullingar.

Mundy, Glen Campbell, Kila and the Blind Boys of Alabama also feature at the outdoor concert. The family-focused event includes yoga, face-painting and storytelling activities for children.

Youngsters will also be entertained by the Lambert Puppet Theatre and learn circus skills like juggling. Ireland's only country music festival switched to Co Offaly this year after being held in the grounds of Ballinlough Castle Co Meath in 2006.
