Seven candidates are seeking a a seat on Banbridge council in the Dromore ward in Co Down.

The by-election for a seat previously occupied by former Ulster Unionist and Ireland rugby international Tyrone Howe is the first electoral test for Northern Ireland's newest party, the Traditional Unionist Voice.

The party was formed by MEP Jim Allister after he quit the Democratic Unionists last March over its power sharing deal with Sinn Féin.
