A west of Ireland county council has been urged to introduce a by-law banning jet-skiing at a popular seaside resort. Sligo Fianna Fail Councillor Joe Queenan said yesterday that jetskiing at Enniscrone beach was causing concern and, while local jet-ski enthusiasts were not creating a problem, some visiting skiers were "behaving irresponsibly". Mr Paul Conmy of Fine Gael said tourists were welcome in Enniscrone, but a potentially dangerous situation existed when swimmers and jet-skis were in the water in close proximity.
