A Fine Gael private members' Bill on the prevention of corruption, which provides for a new statutory offence of bribery punishable by a seven-year prison sentence, will be moved in the Dail next week. Mr Charles Flanagan, the party's spokesman on criminal law reform, said the corruption laws were outdated and needed to be defined in the form of a modern statute.
