Cork charge after man stabbed in chest and face

A man has been arrested and charged under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act after a stabbing in Cork yesterday.

A man has been arrested and charged under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act after a stabbing in Cork yesterday.

The incident occurred at Ardmore Avenue in Knocknaheeny at 4.45 p.m. when two men were involved in an altercation in which one of them was stabbed and "seriously injured", according to gardaí.

The 23-year-old injured man is being treated for face and chest wounds at Cork University Hospital where his condition is described as stable.

Also, a 39-year-old man was stabbed in Dublin early this morning. The incident occured at Dunard Avenue in Cabra at about 2.40 a.m. and the man is now being treated at the Mater hospital for his injuries.
