The Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications, Mr Lowry, has appointed the transportation consultants. Oscar Faber to re evaluate the proposed light rail lines for Dublin. The European Commission ordered an investigation last November into the rail plan because of concern that the Government intended to postpone the Ballymun route and press ahead with two routes on the city's south side.
Mr Lowry said yesterday the terms of reference for the "socio economic evaluation" had been agreed between his Department and the European Commission. It would be completed within 12 weeks.
