Employment in the construction sector increased by 2.6 per cent during the 12 months to April this year, latest figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) has shown.
The CSO said today that the monthly employment index increased from 106.3 in April 2005 to 109.1 in April 2006.
The CSO report is based on a survey of firms employing five people or more.
