Washington DC police have dismissed Congressman Gary Condit's privately administered polygraph, the Washington Postreported today.

The police have suggested they may need to question the congressman a fourth time concerning the disappearance of former intern Chandra Levy, according to the paper.
Police Chief Charles Ramsey said the FBI had reviewed the results of Mr Condit's lie detector test and found it had "no investigative value," the newspaper reported. Mr Ramsey said analysts were not able to match specific questions to the graphs that show the congressman's reactions.
Mr Ramsey said in the Postthe results of Mr Condit's test were given to police in such a way that analysts had "no way of telling with certainty the results of each question
"He may have tried to sell it to us," Mr Ramsey was quoted as saying, "but we're not buying it".
Mr Condit's lawyer, Mr Abbe Lowell, surprised police last week by announcing the California Democrat had "submitted himself to a polygraph examination". But a senior police official immediately said the lie-detector test was "self-serving" because it was done without police participation.
Neither Mr Lowell nor Mr Condit's spokesman were immediately available for comment.
Police have repeatedly said Mr Condit is not a suspect in Levy's disappearance, which is classified as a missing person case.
