A loyalist murderer, Michael Stone, was granted eight hours compassionate leave to visit a sick relative last weekend, it was revealed last night.

Stone (42), from east Belfast, was jailed for 30 years in 1988 for six murders. Three of his victims were gunned down in the infamous gun and grenade attack on mourners at Milltown Cemetery, west Belfast, in May 1987.
