County manager Mr John Quinlivan has confirmed that gate fees at the county landfill at White River near Dunleer and at Dundalk UDC's landfill at the Newry Road, are being increased from £50 to £100 and £120 a tonne respectively.

The existing £3 tag on the bin charge in Drogheda could rise to £5.60 while the £192 annual charge in the rest of the county, where the service is privatised, is also expected to increase sharply.
