Top seed Kim Clijsters and Number 3 Jelena Dokic will face each other in a semi-final clash at the Toyota Princess Cup in Tokyo after comfortable quarter-final victories today.
Clijsters dominated on her serve in a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Number 7 seed Tamarine Tanasugarn of Thailand.
Clijsters troubled her opponent with the pace and depth of her groundstrokes, setting up match point with a crunching forehand return. She ended the match in 50 minutes with a wrong-footing, cross-court pass moments later.
Dokic dropped just three points on serve in the first set as she demolished unseeded Meilen Tu 6-2, 6-2.
Dokic won her first meeting with Clijsters at last year's Fed Cup but has lost twice since - most recently a 6-4, 6-2 reverse on grass in June at the Heineken Trophy in The Netherlands.
