A rejuvenated Shamrock Rovers outclassed their bitter Dublin rivals Bohemians at Tolka Park this afternoon to earn a place in the FAI Carlsberg Cup final later this month.

Man-of-the-match Terry Palmer found the net with a looping header four minutes before the break.The centre half proved a class act throughout and saved Rovers on more than one occasion with timely interventions to deny Glen Crowe and Bobby Ryan.

Rovers upped their work rate in the second period and went two up through winger James Keddy.His scrambled effort bobbled over the line to beat the diving Bohemians 'keeper Ashley Bayes.

Liam Buckley's Rovers will play Derry City in the final following their 1-0 victory away to Cork City on Friday night.
