PARIS - The popularity of President Jacques Chirac has risen to 50 per cent among voters, while that of the French Prime Minister, Mr Alain Juppe, has fallen slightly, according to an opinion poll for the business weekly Valeurs Actuelles.
The poll was carried out on February 2nd and 3rd, a few days after Mr Chirac announced the end of France's nuclear tests in the South Pacific.
