China today said it is willing to discuss any proposals to combat international terrorism at the United Nations Security Council.
But Foreign Ministry spokesman Mr Zhu Bangzao said any military action in retaliation for last week's attacks on the United States would need concrete evidence, should not hurt innocent people and should be conducted within international law.
Mr Zhu also said China expected in return US support and understanding in Beijing's fight against separatists in the northwestern region of Xinjiang, Tibet and Taiwan.
