Dublin restaurateur and chef, Mr Conrad Gallagher, appeared before the Dublin District Court yesterday charged with stealing paintings from the Fitzwilliam Hotel, Dublin, the base of Mr Gallagher's Peacock Alley restaurant.

The paintings, valued at more than £8,000, are the work of Felim Egan. Mr Gallagher was arrested yesterday morning and charged with larceny and false pretences. He was remanded on his own bail of £300 to reappear on December 20th.
