Casey officiates at wedding

The former Bishop of Galway, Dr Eamon Casey, officiated at a family wedding in Co Limerick on Tuesday.

The former Bishop of Galway, Dr Eamon Casey, officiated at a family wedding in Co Limerick on Tuesday.

The bishop arrived from London, where he is based, for the wedding of his nephew, Mr Pat Clifford, from Bruff, at the parish church in Meanus. The groom is a brother of Mr John Clifford, a Fianna Fail member of Limerick County Council, and the bride, Ms Orla Casey, is from Lattin, Co Tipperary.

The Bishop of Limerick, Dr Donal Murray, gave permission to Dr Casey to officiate at the wedding in his diocese.
