People from Co Carlow are spending more on eBay than residents of any other county in the Republic, according to figures released by the online auction site today.
Residents of Offaly and Roscommon were found to be consideably less taken with the website and languished at the foot of the e-shopping table.
The results of eBay's annual survey of Irish spending habits show that people living in Carlow were most likely to splash out on motorcycles, car parts and DVDs over the last 12 months.
People in the county were also tracked selling more baby items per capita beating closest rival seller Wicklow by a factor of five.
Wicklow finished in second place in the per capita spending survey with gourmet food, antiques, computers and sports gear proving most popular in that county.
Waterford finished third. Ebay attributed the poor performance of Roscommon and Offaly to a lack of broadband penetration in those counties.
The site, which was launched in Ireland in 2005, declined, however, to say how much was actually spent citing commercial concerns but claims to currently have around 500,000 registered users in the Republic.
