London - Using chemicals similar to caffeine to improve the effects of radiotherapy could prove a major new weapon in the fight against bowel cancer, British scientists said yesterday. Doctors from Bristol University said experiments showed that if caffeine was added to bowel cancer cells immediately after radiation, the effectiveness of the treatment was boosted by up to 150 per cent. - (Reuter)
