Approximately one-third of the £30,000 donation by a building firm to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Burke, was handed over to the Fianna Fail, according to senior sources in the party. The

Taoiseach, Mr Ahern, said at the weekend he was satisfied with the circumstances surrounding the donation made to Mr Burke in the 1989

general election campaign.

Senior sources last night said they understood that Mr Burke had given about one third of the political donation to the party.
